This hostel is a short walk (about 10 minutes) from the Rome Termini Station in Rome. The rooms sleep anywhere from four to nine, and there are only two bathrooms, but the price is right. It is centrally located - we walked to the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Piazza Navona and St. Peter's in one day (spending plenty of time in each place)- some of us walked back- the rest took a taxi.
The following are hotels in which we stayed and found to be excellent- very clean and comfortable, moderately priced, and all but Villa Eva included breakfast.

Phone home from Europe cheaply
This site covers all passes with Rail Europe. We chose the Europass Saverpass, which covered the countries we would be travelling in. The price is reasonable, but- beware - there are extra costs. You will have to reserve a seat, at an extra cost, or you might have to stand during the trip. Some of the trains are new and luxurious, some are old and far from 1st class travel. Be sure to book for overnight accomodation before you leave home.
