Dachau fence and guard tower

       

Since I have been teaching the Holocaust for 30 years, a visit to Dachau was an important part of our trip.

The administrative building has now become a museum. Inside the main entrance is a huge wall map of all the concentration and death camps of the Third Reich. As one moves through the museum, the history of the camp can be seen.

Outside, one barracks has been rebuilt, the others all having been destroyed. There are several memorials on the grounds.

I found that I could not visit the crematorium.
